From Technological Innovation to Sustainability: Achievements and Strategies for the future

2024 has been a year of significant achievements and milestones for Sacchetto SpA. The increase in export revenue to 30% and a 20% rise in total production compared to the previous year confirm the company’s solidity and ongoing commitment to growth. Among the key milestones reached in 2024 are the launch of a new by-product drying plant and the introduction of a new concentrator featuring MVR technology — key investments for the future that expand production while optimizing energy consumption. We have summarized last year’s main achievements and the new challenges ahead for 2025.

Innovation and Growth: 2024 Milestones

New By-Product Drying Plant

Sacchetto SpA has introduced a new drying plant, Distiller No. 3, to enhance the valorization of the by-product surplus generated by increased production. Distiller No. 3 produces a protein-based intermediate product for the feed industry, particularly for ruminants. Thanks to a new slow-rotation drying technology, the system consumes approximately 25% less thermal and electrical energy than traditional methods. Additionally, its production capacity is 50% higher than current plants, significantly improving efficiency and environmental sustainability.

New MVR Technology Concentrator

The adoption of a new evaporator with MVR technology marks a major step forward in our production process. This plant produces a liquid protein concentrate used in the pig feed sector or as a fertilizer. MVR technology ensures significantly higher energy efficiency than traditional systems, reducing energy consumption by 75%. Furthermore, its implementation is crucial for ensuring production continuity and overall plant profitability.

2025 Goals: Innovation and Sustainability

For 2025, Sacchetto SpA has set ambitious new goals to continue growing in the global market while further improving production efficiency and environmental sustainability. Here are our key objectives:

Innovating the Gluten-Free Wheat Starch Production Process

Sacchetto SpA aims to strengthen its leadership in the organic and gluten-free product sector. We are working on a research and development project that will bring a new product to market: Gluten-Free Low-Gliadin Wheat Starch, ideal for people with celiac disease or food intolerances. This new product meets the growing demand for high-quality food among consumers who require a gluten-free diet.

New Automated Warehouse

With increased production comes the need for additional storage space for finished products. To address this, Sacchetto SpA plans to build a highly technological automated warehouse, optimizing space and increasing storage capacity. Automation will help reduce operational and labor costs, improve logistics efficiency, and minimize errors. Additionally, to mitigate environmental impact and ensure architectural harmony with the surrounding area, part of the structure will be built underground, considering groundwater constraints.

Modernizing and Enhancing the Starch Packaging Line

The company plans to introduce a new packaging line with a high degree of automation. Advanced technologies, including a robotic palletizer and a robotic arm bagging machine, will ensure greater efficiency and lower energy consumption. Access to tax incentives under Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 programs will help reduce both investment and operational costs, while production capacity is expected to double compared to current facilities.

Expanding the Rice Derivatives Production Plant

To meet the growing demand for rice starch and its derivatives, Sacchetto SpA will invest in the introduction of new high-automation filtration and centrifugation technologies. This upgrade will increase production capacity and improve energy efficiency, reducing specific energy consumption while benefiting from tax incentives under Industry 4.0 and 5.0.

Efficiency and Sustainability at the Core of Growth

Sacchetto SpA continues to invest in innovation and sustainability. All new plants are designed not only to increase production but also to reduce energy consumption, enhancing overall environmental impact. The transition to more efficient technologies strengthens the company’s market position, meeting the needs of an ever-evolving industry while reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability.

With these ambitious goals, Sacchetto SpA looks to 2025 as a year of further growth, efficiency, and innovation, continuing to stand out for the quality of its products and its commitment to reducing environmental impact.
